Sorcha
completed her Championship in the fall of 2008 at the Concord, NC
shows. She was handled to her Championship by myself and by our
dear friend and one of Sorcha's favorite people Ms. Dawn
Wiseman, Temair Irish Wolfhounds. She is shown here going
Best of Breed over Specials for a 5 point major. Sorcha was
bred only once to MBIS BIS Ch. Taryn Tate of Limerick, SC
producing a beautiful litter. She is now retired from the show ring nnd
is our resident top bitch at home. Sorcha completed all of her
health requirements prior to breeding and has her CHIC
certification. Unfortunately she was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation
and Dilated Cardiomyopathy two years ago at our National Specialty by
Dr. Bill Tyrell. She is currently on medications for her heart
condition and it has not slowed her down, having celebrated her 9th
birthday with us on January 15, 2012.
I would recommend anyone interested in
purchasing a purebred dog to check out the CHIC site before doing
so, no matter the breed! It is a wonderful tool to assist in understanding health
concerns in purebred dogs and knowing the right questions to ask

Sorcha
Christmas of 2010 three weeks shy of 8 years of age... diagnosed with a
heart condition at 7 years it has not slowed her down at all,
at 9+ years she remains "in charge". Sorcha's mother lived to be
11years 3 weeks, her litter mates are Muirne, Simon, Sera, Brady,
Siofra... of the six littermates we have lost only two, one at 3
years and the second at 8 years 6 months of age... the rest are doing
well at 9+ giving the litter an average lifespan to date of 7.8 years.
